With parquet flooring styles you can be fun and creative. There are various different patterns that you can create to make your flooring truly unique to you. The patterns you can make depend on the size of the parquet block. For some of the patterns the width of the block needs to be divisible into the length. This will give you the range of more patterns and styles.
What exactly is parquet flooring?
Parquet flooring is a small block of flooring, rather than a longer plank. The beauty of parquet is that you have the creativity to produce recurring styles with your flooring. The overall colour and look of the floor will depend which species of wood, colour stain and surface finish you choose. Most of our parquet block floors are made from Oak, but some do have a colour stain which slightly changes the colour of the wood. If you are looking for something completely different, have a look at our bamboo parquet block floors. There are bolder colours including grey and dark brown, and the bamboo used is over twice as hard as Oak!
What are the best parquet flooring styles?
The three main patterns or styles that you can create are:
This creates a v shaped zigzag pattern, which recurs throughout the room. You lay the blocks at a 45 degree angle against each other.
You lay the blocks out in rows, parallel to each other. The end result is that your floor will resemble a brickwork pattern.
You install the blocks at a 90 degree angle to each other in square sections. This will give you a floor that resembles a basket weave style.
In addition to these, you could add different styles of borders around the edge of your room with the parquet blocks.
